Candidate Q&A: Debbie Lewis

Debbie Lewis is running for Parker town council and answered a questionnaire for YourHub.com. To read all of the candidate questionnaires, click here.

Name: Debbie Lewis

Seat I am seeking: "Re-election" to Parker Town Council Member

Age: Not polite to ask a lady but proudly 56

Family: Husband ( Mark). Five children and 2 grandchildren

Occupation: Real Estate (Parker Real Estate)

Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee, but Parker, Co feels like my "Hometown" for 27 years

My Web Site: Debbie4parker.com or DebbieforParker.com

Favorite local places to hang out: Warhorse, Parker Station, Vines, Trappers, or any place fun in Parker where I can sit and talk with my friends and family to share life in Parker.

What I like most about living here: Even though the community has grown by leaps and bounds, Parker has made every effort to keep the "small town" atmostphere with all of the benefits of a growing community and top notch sports facilities for families. I can't wait until we get our own football stadium serving all the Parker High Schools.

Interests & hobbies: Serving my community & helping to create a cultural environment for both children and adults. I Love to cook, eat and listen to blues and rock and roll.

My Favorite Web site: I don't do the internet - sorry I'm too busy living and loving life!

People who inspired me (and how): My parents have always been an inspiration. They both have taught me sound personal values. They have shown by example how you treat others with respect and love. When times are toughest, they instilled in me a personal faith in God and hope for the future.

How I have contributed to the community: I have listened to what the citizens of Parker want and need. My strong collaborative skills have helped to build a strong relationship with my community in making the vision of a Parker Cultural facility, a new Police and Safety Center a realistic goal and working towards the fruition of the Town's long-term transportation plan.

The biggest issues facing my constituency now: First and foremost we are faced with an economic crisis which will undoubtedly offer challenges to our Town Council and the residents of our community in reaching our goals, which will require someone with maturity and experience on Council. We must not lose site of our purpose and commitment to making this a full-service community, with "hometown values" while helping to keep our tax dollars right here in Parker where we live, work, and play.
