"World class care, with a home town touch" is how Mayor David Casiano described the arrival of Parker's newest medical facility at a community open house on June 7. Casiano and other business leaders joined Kaiser Permanente staff and physicians for the opening of the Kaiser Permanente Parker Medical Offices this summer. It is the health plan's 18 th medical office and the first in the Parker area.

Hundreds of local families and Kaiser Permanente members participated in the event, which included tours of the new medical office building and the opportunity to meet with physicians. The Parker Chamber of Commerce made opening day official with a ribbon cutting ceremony at their June 18 "Business After Hours" event, which drew more than 100 business leaders to the medical office.

Kaiser Permanente made it a priority to have local vendors supply the healthy food and activities at both events. This included organic produce giveaways from the Tri County Farmers Market, a nutritious fruit and yogurt parfait bar from Sweet Lorraine's Catering, and Peanuts' face painting and balloon fun. Live music and entertainment from area performers incorporated healthy messages and tips for new and prospective members.

Kaiser Permanente leaders shared their enthusiasm and excitement to be a part of the Parker community, one of the health plan's fastest growing regions.

"The community of Parker was the fastest growing municipality in the United States in the 1990s and it continues to attract new residents and industries. By investing in this community, we can decrease drive time and improve convenient access to quality, affordable medical services for thousands of Kaiser Permanente members and future members living in Parker and nearby communities."
