Will the real Philly Cheese steak please stand up?
Contributed by: Andi Houdek on 2/23/2006

The other day I was craving a Philly Cheese Steak.  I grew up in Philly and every now and then I really need to have one!
I usually go to P's cheese steaks, but I was in a time crunch.  I decided to visit one of our local restaurants.
Well, sorry I did!  I am sure they saw my face fall as I watched them throw roast beef onto a bun and heat it in a microwave....
I wish they would be honest in naming what they offer.  Offering a Philly cheese steak without knowing what one really is seems wrong (my stomach was not happy along with my taste buds.)
Anyway, anyone else out there a fan of Philly cheese steaks?  Have you found any good places to get one in the Parker area?

There's a place in Elizabeth about 15-20 minutes S.E. of Parker. This place is a small mom and pop shop that has had great reviews on their philly's and pizza. The philly beef sandwhich. is made from the "Original philly steak meat" made to order every time. The pizza is N.Y. style, fresh and original. the place is Cheezies Pizza, by Safeway. It's worth the drive!

There is a place called "Yo Philly" the owner is from Philadelphia. It is on Lincoln Avenue before I-25 in the Conoco gas station right by Lamar Donuts (I think the closest intersection is Oswego) - very close to the Wildlife Experience but on the north side of Lincoln - Best Philly Sandwich ever!!!

Andi, you will find no better than Pat's Philly Cheesesteaks on Arapahoe at Arapahoe and I-25 on the north side. They simply are the very best.

Hi Andi, I think the PCS at the WARHORSE on Mainstreet in Parker is great. It's my favorite menu item, and to spice it up a bit I always ask for a side of horseradish sauce. Louise

Andi... I'm a Chicago relocatee, but I think I can still steer you in the right direction. I also love a TRUE Philly, and for the longest time the only good one I knew of was in Jackson, WY - over 500 miles NW of Parker. However, I discovered a small chain that makes incredible Philly's in the South Metro area... A Taste of Philly. You will find one at 2660 E. County Line in Littleton, and another at 2432 S. Colorado Blvd. in Denver. Each are less than a 15 mile drive from Parker. You're going to love them!!! Bill Blakslee

Visit Santoro's Restaurant. They claim to be "the best PCS" around; I've had them and they're good ... but then I'm from nearer to Pittsburgh! Santoro's is located on the North side of Lincoln, just East of Yosemite (beside Chipotle's).
