Ode to Chocolate
Contributed by: Kristin Osani on 11/17/2006

Excitement-

I draw near to you

The sight of you-

Your rich, heavy smell-

Enticing

Sends jolts of pure joy shocking through my nerves

I smile upon reaching you,

My lips part after one final anticipating lick to wet them

You enter my mouth

Your silky flavor washes over my taste buds, already moist with saliva

Wave after wave after wave, melting over my tongue

Coating it with a thick layer of your goodness

I swallow after you're done, gone, VANISHED

Empty, I ache for more

MORE, MORE-

Though I can still taste you lingering in my hollow mouth

A sweet aftertaste that remains

Reminding me of your brief presence

And I whisper to cold atmosphere

I love you.
