Lutheran High School Parker hosts fundraiser

Parker - Lutheran High School Parker (LHSP) is hosting the "First Ever Family Classic Fund Raiser" to raise funds for on-going educational needs, technological improvements and help providing more tuition assistance to those families in need.

For the first time ever, LHSP is reaching out to the friends of Lutheran and the general community to participate in a variety of events by either sponsoring or participating themselves on Monday, October 20, and has put together a package of sporting events that includes prizes for both the participants and students who garner the most monetary contributions.

The event has been named the LHSP Family Classic because it encourages all students, families and friends in the community at large to participate or contribute in some manner. The contributors can play in the golf tournament or sponsor a player in this and other events.

Juls Clausen, Interim Director for Lutheran Schools and principal of LHSP, emphasizes that "all avid golfers know what a round of golf costs at Black Bear Golf Course and what a challenging course it can be. If you contribute to the LHSP Classic, you are guarenteed a round of golf with some of the friendliest group of players around. You may not be rubbing elbows with celebrities, but that'll make your chances of winning the prize trips and Million Dollar Prize more feasible. Plus, your donations are going to support a tangible cause. Parker and the surrounding area is still growing and the private, Christian school options are limited. We need your help to continue to offer a quality private school education option for those families that require it."

The LHSP Family Classic also includes all-day activities at 10-Acre Park at Riva Ridge and Mainstreet. They will include a prayer walk, fun run, kick ball and a "washers" tournament. On Monday, students who have gathered sponsorships will
be participating in the events to earn their pledges from their sponsors.

Prizes for the Family Golf Classic alone include the Million Dollar Prize, and a variety of trip give-a-ways, including trips to Florida Lake Tahoe Skii Trip, the Smokey Mountains, and a Palm Springs Golf Get-A-Way.

LHSP, since its inception in 2000, has produced excellence in Christian education evidenced by two student semi-finalist in the National Merit Award Scholarship Program. It has also been selected for the 2008 Best of Parker Award in Private & Parochial Schools category by the U.S. Local Business Association.
