Pioneer Camp to offer hands-on activities for kids
Contributed by: Julie Patterson on 7/17/2008

Make candles, churn butter, bake in a wood-burning oven and enjoy the same games and goodies that pioneer children did at the Aurora History Museum's Pioneer Camp from 9 a.m. to noon July 28 to 31 at DeLaney Farm, 170 S. Chambers Road.

The camp for ages 8 to 12 will use hands-on activities to teach about the travels and lives of the pioneers who came West in the late 1800s to start new lives on the eastern plains of Colorado.

The cost is $100 ($80 Aurora residents). To register, call 303-326-8650 or visit auroragov.org/recreation.
