The City of Aurora's third annual Power of One program will wrap up this fall with The Power of One Perspective, a series of presentations focusing on the theme of mystery.
The following is a schedule of presentations scheduled at the Aurora Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Parkway. Admission is free.

Sept. 21, 2 p.m.: "Colorado Historic Murder Mysteries"

Dick Kreck discusses his books
Murder at the Brown Palace and
Anton Woode: the Boy Murderer.

Oct. 5, 2 p.m.: "Colorado True Crimes"
Mystery writer
Mario Acevedo, author of
The Nymphos of Rocky Flats: A Novel, and
Aurora Police Lt. Tim DuFour discuss details and motivations behind notorious Colorado crimes.

Oct. 26, 2 p.m.: "Did You Ever Want to Write Mysteries?"
Mystery writers
Christine Goff, Robert Greer, Manuel Ramos, Margaret Coel and
R.T. Lawton discuss their craft and inspiration for exciting plots and dastardly characters with some lively readings from their books.

Nov. 9, 2 p.m.: "Of Maggots and Murder"
Forensic entomologist
Dr. Fred Baxendale discusses how insects can help solve crimes. By analyzing the insects found at crime scenes and applying knowledge of their biology and habits, forensic entomologists can estimate the time, circumstances and even location of the victim's death.
