Are you a library lover? Rally for your library and ballot issue 5A at the site of the proposed new Parker Library (
Main Street and Pine
) from
10 a.m. to noon
on
Sunday, October 19
. Bring your friends, family, pets, signs, and enthusiasm.
The rally will take place, rain or shine. Participants can park behind Parker Station, or at the Parker Water & Sanitation building.
Issue 5A asks voters to approve a 1 (one) mill increase on property tax, or $7.96 a year per $100,000 of your home's value. If 5A passes, the typical Douglas County Household will pay less than $30 a year- the cost of a single hardback book.
Under 5A, Douglas County gets:
-New, adequately-sized libraries in Parker, Castle Pines and Lone Tree. 40% of the new tax will sunset and go away after the new libraries are built and paid for.
-Renovations to the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock and Highlands Ranch Library.
-Expert librarians, more library materials and improved technology for everyone in Douglas County.
For more information about 5A and Yes to Libraries, visit
YestoLibraries.com
or call 303-841-8155.
