The eighth annual Halloween with Horses Presented by Murdoch's on Oct. 20 offers more fun than ever before, including new horse entertainment, while favorites such as the Stable of Terror and the horse costume contest return. The only fall festival of its kind, the Colorado Horse Park's Halloween with Horses offers a day of fun for the whole family. The event has been recognized nationwide as one of the most unique Halloween celebrations.
Halloween with Horses is ideal for families and horse lovers alike. A safe trick-or-treat barn, pony and horse rides, Stable of Terror, straw maze, pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo and horse entertainment are just a few of the ways little ghosts and goblins can have fun. Parents enjoy the crafters fair. And of course, don't forget the food! But the highlight of the event is the horse costume contest.
Halloween with Horses Presented by Murdoch's runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Colorado Horse Park, 7522 S. Pinery Drive. Tickets are $9 per person. Children under one are free. Parking is free. Bring a can of food and receive $1 off one admission. Visit www.ColoradoHorsePark.org or www.halloweenwithhorses.org for more information or call 303.841.5550.
If you like to be scared, the "Stable of Terror" haunted house is the place to come for a good fright. A kid-friendly version will be available for guests under seven. Not so scary, but equally fun, children can meet costumed hosts that take them through the Pumpkin Patch, the Spiders' Web, a Haunted Forest and the Groaning Graveyard. Last year the Parker Arts Council (PAC) and local elementary, middle and high school students put in over 600 volunteer hours to make the Stable of Terror a success. "It's as much fun to build and be an actor in the event, as it is to find the courage to enter the 'Stable of Terror'!" states the PAC Web site. The Stable of Terror will be open during Halloween with Horses on Oct. 20 as well as Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Admission on these extra dates will be $7. The Stable of Terror is always looking for volunteers to work this event. Visit www.parkerartscouncil.org or call 303-840-5406 for more information.
