Do you have memories or stories of riding passenger trains through Douglas County, waiting at Castle Rock's depots, or working for the railroads that pass through Douglas County?
Share your valuable experiences with generations to come. The
Douglas County History Research Center
(DCHRC, part of Douglas County Libraries) is conducting a unique oral history project this summer at the Philip S. Miller Library (100 South Wilcox Street in Castle Rock).
Interviews will be conducted on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. The first session runs from June 5 through June 23. Session two picks up on July 10 and goes through August 4. All participants will receive a copy of the oral history interview and transcript.
The recording sessions will run from 30-60 min. in length. They will be donated to the DCHRC as part of the collective memory of the community. Some of the stories will also appear in a thesis paper written on Douglas County History by Fred Edison, Douglas County High School History Instructor, and graduate student at the University of Colorado at Denver.
To schedule an interview, contact Johanna Harden or Annette Gray (DCHRC Archivists) at 303-791-READ, or Fred Edison at 303-688-9286.
