Class of 2006
On 2/23/2006
Contributed by: Lynne Wride on 2/28/2007

The "Class of 2006" was honored at the Denver Area Council Eagle Scout Recognition Banquet on February 23 in the ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel. Each honoree in attendance was individually introduced to the large crowd of family, friends and leaders and was given a pewter Eagle Scout belt buckle engraved with "Class of 2006".

As one of the requirements for Eagle rank, each young man was required to complete a special service project that would help his community in some way. There were 462 Eagle projects completed by the "Class of 2006" in the seven districts that make up the Denver Area Council. One scout from each district was chosen to receive a special award--The Optimist Club Outstanding Eagle Project Award. The recipient for the Pioneer Trails District (which includes the town of Parker) was Daniel Dale. His project was providing fleece quilts, hats and scarves to some of the homeless in Denver. Daniel discovered that First Love Christian Church in Aurora does a lot of work with the homeless and he was able to give them 59 quilts, 61 hats and 84 scarves.

Congratulations to the "Class of 2006" for a job well done !
