Jillian Mathena is the recipient of the annual DAR Scholarship award given by the Smoky Hill Trail Chapter of National Society of Daughters of American Revolution.

This prestigious award was presented to Jillian at the monthly meeting of this Parker chapter of DAR and is based on academic excellence and commitment to a field of study. She plans to study elementary education.

Jillian is an outstanding student from Kiowa High School. Her senior year activities include: National Honor Society V.P.; Senior Class V.P.;Yearbook Editor and Link Leader. Jillian has worked at the school daycare facility for several years and loves helping children.

Her career goal is to become an elementary school teacher. Jillian is also a talented and creative award-winning artist. She plans to attend the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs."
