Dr.
Jim Reid has been called by the congregation of the Hilltop United Church of Christ to be its new pastor.
Hilltop United Church of Christ (HUCC) is a small rural church located in a forested ridge facing the Rockies to the southeast of Parker. The church had its beginnings in the 1880's when the first settlers held meetings in the Hilltop schoolhouse. Today the 140-member church continues its pioneering legacy by providing a welcoming spiritual haven and through its very active community outreach activities.
For the past 22 years, Reid has served congregations in Fort Morgan, and in Portland, Oregon. Reid holds a Doctorate in Ministry from the Chicago Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity form the Pacific School of Religion, and a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College. Before he began his pastoral ministry, Reid had been a newspaper reporter in Idaho and a public relations officer for an energy research facility. Dr. Reid moves to Parker with his wife
Carol and three children, 18-year old twins,
Curtis,
Danielle and 9-year old
Phillip.
Reid brings to Hilltop innovative, back to the basics approaches to his ministry, outstanding sermons, strong community outreach, and enthusiasm.
Dr. Reid's first Sunday service will be on June 25 at the 9:30 a.m. Hilltop United Church of Christ is located at the intersection of Democrat and Flintwood Roads in Parker, Colorado. The church office phone number is: 303-841-2808.
