Michael McNeal will examine Moscow's recent incursion beyond its borders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14 at the Warhorse Inn (19420 E. Mainstreet) in historic downtown Parker.
McNeal is from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at Denver University. He will examine Moscow's invasion of Georgia, in the name of human rights, and the show of displeasure by the United States, which used human rights to justify armed intervention in the sovereign state of Yugoslavia almost a decade earlier. McNeal will use international law and his expertise in Eastern Europe's ethnic and sectarian politics to provide context for a thought-provoking presentation. Questions and discussion are encouraged!
The talk by McNeal is the second installment of Café Current, a new Parker Library series focusing on tomorrow's banner news. The lectures, followed by a discussion facilitated by the speakers, are free.
No registration required. For more information about Café Current or the renewable energy talk, please contact Jeanie Straub or James Vallejos at the Parker Library by calling 303-791-READ.
