A Free Performance by Classical Guitarist
Contributed by: Kristin Hayek on 10/10/2008

The Neighborhood Library at Lone Tree, in partnership with the City of Lone Tree and South Suburban Parks and Recreation, presents a free performance by award-winning classical guitarist, Peter Fletcher. The concert takes place at the Lone Tree Recreation Center (10249 Ridgegate Circle) on Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. This performance will feature selections from Fletcher's 2008 CD release Music of the Baroque. Pieces will include the E Minor Lute Suite by J.S. Bach; Fletcher's transcriptions of Eric Satie and Edvard Grieg; and the Usher-Waltz, a unique and intense piece by Russian guitarist and composer Nikita Koshkin.

Peter Fletcher has performed all over the country and on television. Steven Rings of The American Record Guide says of Fletcher, "He has a strong technique, a consistent tone, and a strong interpretive imagination." A critic of the Cherokee Scout says "He has technical facility but what one remembers about his playing is the nuances, the poetical phrasing, dynamic and tonal changes, his harmonics, his cadences."
