Play Golf, Help Homeless Youth
Contributed by: Kathy Hartman on 8/7/2006

The Aurora Housing Corporation will sponsor the fifth annual Housing Aurora Invitational Wednesday, August 16th at the Canterberry Club in Parker. Registration begins at 7 am with a shotgun start at 8 am. Sponsored by Citywide Banks and Bank of the West, the event will also host a number of Denver Bronco Alumni.

All proceeds will benefit the children's programs of Colfax Community Network and Stride, two nonprofits serving homeless families in the metro area. "It's a great way to have fun and also support two excellent community programs," noted Preston Prince, Executive Director of the Aurora Housing Corporation and organizer of the event.

Colfax Community Network provides educational and recreational services for children and families living in motels along Colfax Avenue. Stride provides intensive case management, tutoring, and support for extracurricular activities for seventy-five homeless families in transitional housing. The tournament is expected to net over $25,000 to support these agencies.

The tournament is expected to sell out. Individuals or companies interested in participating should contact Linda Jaster at 720-251-2067.
