Parker Girl Scout Troops, part of the Horseshoe Unit, helped bring in over 3,800 items to Parker Task Force food bank on September 15th. They collected non perishable items from neighbors and hit the streets asking for donations to help fill the shelves at Parker Task Force.
Girl Scouts participate in many community service projects. There were 17 troops who participate in this years food drive. Parker Girl Scouts has supported the Parker Task Force with a food drive for 10 years.
This year Parker Task Force needs are up in order to assist the community in the Parker area. The Parker Task Force has experienced a 45% increase in the number of families needing help in 2007 over the numbers of client families in 2006 asking for assistance.
The Task Force is always looking for donations all year long. Contact the Parker Task Force for more information.
