Parker Police

SPEEDER CITED FOR DUI
A 32-year-old Parker man was pulled over at Jordan Road and Maple Crest Drive for speeding at about 11:30 p.m. April 7. The 32-year-old driver smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. He denied having anything to drink, but his failure to complete roadside maneuvers properly suggested otherwise. A background check revealed he was the subject of a restraining order prohibiting him from consuming alcohol. He was issued a summons and later released.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER DUI
At about 2 a.m. April 6, police pulled over the driver of a Pontiac sedan for failing to use turn signals. The driver, a 43-year-old Littleton man, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. After failing voluntary roadside sobriety maneuvers, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later released to a sober party.

GRANDSON 'ON DRUGS'
At about 12:15 p.m. April 3, an officer was dispatched to the 17600 block of Ponderosa Avenue on a report of a 19-year-old man unable to stand and possibly on drugs. The 19-year-old's grandmother told police she was concerned for his welfare because he could not stand up and "has not been acting appropriately." The teen spoke to the officer with slow, slurred speech and he said he had been smoking marijuana and "nothing else." He said he was smoking marijuana with a soda can crafted into a makeshift pipe. The teen had a three-inch knife in his pocket, and a background check revealed he was the subject of a restraining order prohibiting him from carrying weapons. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the restraining order and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office

MAN IMPERSONATES COP
At about 12:30 a.m. April 13, deputies arrested a Highlands Ranch teen for impersonating a police officer after it was discovered he contacted another teen sitting in a car, handcuffed him and put him in the back of his car. Deputies responded to the 2600 block of Danbury Lane in Highlands Ranch on the report that a 19-year-old man had been handcuffed by someone claiming to be a law enforcement officer. Upon arrival, it was learned that two teens were sitting in a car waiting for their friends while they "TP'd" another friend's house. While there, a man drove up and got out of his car and contacted the occupants, identifying himself as a police officer and holding a badge in his hand. The man ordered the driver out of the car, handcuffed him and placed him in the back seat of the suspect car. The suspect then went back to the victim car and spoke with the other occupants. He ordered them to clean up the "TP," then went back to his car and let the victim out and unhandcuffed him. He then got in his car and drove away. The victims stated that they did not know the suspect. It was determined that the suspect lived in Highlands Ranch and when deputies arrived at the address they found the suspect vehicle in the driveway and inside they spotted a badge and handcuffs. They also found empty beer bottles in the car. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, impersonating an officer and underage drinking.

TEACHER CITED FOR THEFT
A 48-year-old Highlands Ranch woman who teaches at Highlands Ranch High School was cited for shoplifting from a grocery store April 9. A security guard at King Soopers, 9551 S. University Blvd., told deputies that he stopped the woman after she exited the store without paying for several items, including a DVD and cigarettes and chocolate milk. The woman said she wasn't feeling well and didn't mean to take the items.

CONSTRUCTION SITE THEFT
Seventy-two aluminum concrete shoring beams worth approximately $21,000 were stolen from a construction site near County Line Road and Erickson Boulevard sometime between April 2 and 7.

DUMPSTER SET ON FIRE
A dumpster was set on fire at 8:45 p.m. April 7 at Cresthill Middle School, 9145 Cresthill Lane, in Highlands Ranch. Littleton Fire helped put the fire out. The loss was estimated at $300.

STOLEN CAR LOCATED
Deputies located a 28-year-old Parker woman's car after it had been stolen from her driveway April 5. Deputies were called at 11:19 p.m. to a house on the 5300 block of Ben Park Circle on a report of a car that had just been stolen. Deputies patrolled the area, but didn't find the car. The woman told deputies she left the keys in the ignition. The car was later found parked in front of Parker Fire Station #76, 6120 Bridle Path Lane. No damage was done and nothing appeared to be missing.

LONE TREE MAN ARRESTED AT LODO'S
A 39-year-old Lone Tree man was arrested at Lodo's Bar and Grill, 8545 S. Quebec St., on April 4 on suspicion of disorderly conduct and harassment. The manager of the bar told deputies the man was kicked out earlier that night for being unruly and attempted to start a fight with some of the staff members outside. After he was arrested, the man stated he had consumed approximately 12 beers that night.
