Blotter: Drunken man unaware of collision

DRIVER UNAWARE OF COLLISION
While responding to a call in a parking lot on the 19600 block of Clubhouse Drive at about 2 a.m. June 23, an officer was approached by a 27-year-old man who said he had witnessed an accident. The 27-year-old man who said he saw a man driving a pick up truck back out of a parking space and hit a Chevy Blazer. The driver of the pick up, a 43-year-old man, was sitting in the driver's seat eating some food. He said he was just eating and was not aware of any accident. He smelled of alcohol and spoke with slurred speech. Both vehicles received minor damage. After failing sobriety maneuvers, He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and careless driving.

UNDERAGED DRIVER CITED FOR DUI
Police pulled over a motorist for speeding on Parker Road near Hilltop Drive at about 2:30 a.m. June 22. The driver, a 20-year-old Parker woman, admitted she had been drinking "vodka and juice" while driving. She agreed to perform voluntary roadside maneuvers, but did not perform them satisfactorily. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI, underage drinking and speeding.

MAN DRIVES ON REVOKED LICENSE
An officer pulled over a motorist for expired tags at about 11 p.m. June 18. The driver, a 19-year-old Parker man, was pulled over on Pavilion Drive near Twenty Mile Road. A background check revealed the driver's license had been revoked. While en route to Douglas County Jail, the man said he could not breathe because he was in a "confined space" in the back seat. The officer pulled over and called Parker Fire paramedics to evaluate him. He was arrested and transported to Douglas County jail without further incident.

SEDALIA MAN ARRESTED AT BUD'S BAR
A 53-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment June 26 after he allegedly shot his gun in the air outside of a bar. Deputies were dispatched at 5:56 p.m. to Bud's Bar, 5453 Colorado 67, on a report of shots fired. An investigation revealed the Sedalia man had just walked outside and fired one round into the air with a shotgun. The man, who admitted to having a drink at the bar, said he shot the gun as a joke. He stated he shot it after a friend of his told him someone outside was letting the air out of his tires. He and allegedly admitted it was a stupid thing to do.

GRIFTER CAUGHT IN THE ACT
A security guard at King Soopers, 9551 S. University Blvd., caught a man who pulled a faulty money exchange at the store at about 3:30 p.m. June 25. The guard stated he watched as the man asked a cashier for a $100 bill in exchange for a $50, two $20 bills and a $10 bill. The man, however, stated the cashier accidentally gave him back a $1 bill. After he received another $100 bill from the cashier, the man left, but guard chased him down in the parking lot and got the $100 bill back. The man later walked off and could not be located by deputies.
