Parker Police: Teen busted with 500 fireworks


TEEN TICKETED FOR ILLEGAL FIREWORKS
At 3:10 a.m. June 28, officers were dispatched to the 10800 block of Twenty Mile Road near the Creekside Apartments on a fireworks complaint. An unidentified woman told deputies she observed four men get out of a car parked on the north side of the apartment complex. Officers located the car in a field at the location, but waited several minutes before contacting the men. Officers and observed four men get in the car, at which point they initiated a stop. The 20-year-old driver of the car told officers he and his friends had been lighting off fireworks in the field. Officers confiscated the remaining fireworks, and issued the 20-year-old a summons on suspicion of lighting off illegal fireworks. Officers confiscated more than 500 illegal fireworks. Dispatch advised officers the group had been contacted by police three other times for lighting fireworks off in area parks before the stop on Twenty Mile Road.

LIQUOR COMPLIANCE CHECK
At 7 p.m. June 26, the Town of Parker initiated a liquor compliance check for all 74 establishments with a liquor license in Parker. A 20-year-old girl was used as a decoy, carrying only a $20 bill and her driver's license. The girl entered Colorado Liquors, 11177 S. Twenty Mile Road, where she attempted to buy a six-pack of beer. The girl provided her driver's license to the store's sales clerk, at which point the clerk continued to process the transaction. An officer entered the store and told the clerk the girl was only 20 years old. Officers issued a summons to the clerk on suspicion of selling alcohol to a minor.
