Parker Police: Coyotes stalk puppy


DOG BITES SALES CLERK
At 1:30 p.m. July 3, officers responded to an animal attack at The Home Depot, 11111 Parker Road. A 51-year-old sales associate told officers she was helping a customer with a black and white Border Collie in the garden center at 12:30 p.m. She said the dog was barking at customers and growling at her while she talked to its owner. A 57-year-old man came up to the dog and asked it to sit. The sales clerk said she continued to talk to the woman when the dog lunged at her, biting her inner right thigh tearing her jeans and bruising her leg. Officers contacted the dog's owners at their home, at which point they issued the man a summons for a vicious dog. The dog, Kobe, was a rescue dog that his owners were trying to socialize. He was current on his shots.

COYOTES STALK PUPPY
At 10:51 a.m. July 1, officers were dispatched to a home on the 9500 block of Deerhorn Court on a wild animal complaint. A woman told officers on June 30,her daughter's boyfriend took the family's puppy for a walk when he encountered a pack of coyotes. He grabbed the puppy and took it home, but the coyotes followed him to the house. The woman told police she sees coyotes in the area often and believes the coyotes are coming after people's small dogs.
