Parker Police: Plane crash at Centennial Airport


Plane crash at Centennial Airport.
South Metro Fire Rescue Authority responded to a plane crash at Centennial Airport, 7800 S. Peoria St., Englewood, at 10:25 a.m. Aug. 16. A single engine plane flipped while landing. The single occupant was not injured. The incident still is under investigation.

Man steals license plates at car wash.
At 1 a.m. Aug. 6, officers observed a white Mercury Marquis parked facing the wrong direction in front of a home on the 8300 block of Sandreed Circle, Parker. Officers ran the plates through dispatch, and found they belonged to a black SUV. At 4:08 p.m. Aug. 9, after several attempts, officers spoke with a 33-year-old man who admitted to stealing the license plates from an SUV at a car wash because he said it was cheaper than purchasing his own license plates. Officers issued the man a summons.

Man arrested driving to police station.
At 4:30 p.m. Aug. 6, a 34-year-old man with a revoked driver's license was observed driving in the parking lot of the Parker Police Department, 19600 E. Parker Square Drive. While the man met with his probation officer, officers told him they observed him driving through police surveillance, and issued him a summons.

License mix-up leads to arrest.
At 10:45 p.m. Aug. 8, officers stopped a 53-year-old man at the intersection of Parker Road and Twenty Mile Road, Parker, because his vehicle displayed a license plate that was registered to a different car. The man told officers he mixed the plates up after washing two cars. Upon clearing the driver, it was found he had a warrant for contempt of court out of Arapahoe County.
