CASTLE ROCK, June 30, 2008 - Daniel C. Verdoorn, president of Celebrity Development of Colorado, LLC, announced today the purchase of the majority of the remaining custom home ground at Pradera in Douglas County from developer D.R. Horton. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Verdoorn said, "We are pleased to have acquired these lots as they represent some of the most prestigious and pristine home sites in Colorado."
The purchase includes 14 ready-to-build home sites and 86 sites slated for future development. Sixty percent of the sites are on, or around, the Club at Pradera, a private golf course. The sites included in the purchase will be built by Celebrity Custom Homes and other elite custom home builders.
Verdoorn added that he expects to spend eight to 10 years to complete the development. "The Pradera community is one of the jewels along the Front Range. It offers homeowners large sites with a beautiful Colorado feel, in addition to having the advantage of being close to urban amenities. I think it's the kind of special place people dream about when they move to Colorado. We feel fortunate and honored to be developing and building at Pradera."
Celebrity Custom Homes plans to have its first homes ready for sale by next spring. The homes will be built on one to three acre lots and priced in the $1 million-plus range. "Most homes will be built with four-car garages and we'll be announcing some exciting new home designs in the near future," Verdoorn said.
Celebrity has developed over 10 communities in the greater Denver metro area including: Heritage Hills in the City of Lone Tree; Heritage Greens and Heritage Estates, both of which are adjacent to South Suburban Golf Courses; and Heritage West in Lakewood.
