For the first time in Douglas County's history, the November General Election results will be broadcast live from the County's Election Center from 7 p.m. to midnight via their Web site DouglasVotes.com.
"Because more than 90 percent of Douglas County residents have high speed Internet access at home, we thought it would be exciting to offer our citizens a glimpse of democracy in action from the comfort of their home on our Web site," said Jack Arrowsmith, Douglas County clerk and recorder.
On-the-hour election results will be provided live. Cameras will be directed on the Election Observation Room where viewers can see election workers processing the mail-in ballots and taking in results from the polling sites.
For citizens without Internet Access or who do not have high speed access, the County is opening up the Douglas County Commissioner's Hearing Room for community viewing of the results on the hearing room large screen. The hearing room is located in the Philip S. Miller County Administration Building, 100 Third Street, in Castle Rock.
Election results will also be updated on DouglasVotes.com Web pages throughout the evening.
