Incidents reported by Parker Police

A 40-year-old Parker woman called the cops on her daughter March 7 after she left the house and sped away in a car under the influence of alcohol. According to a report, police were dispatched at 12:48 a.m. to the area of the 10800 block of Crooke Drive on a report of a 21-year-old who had just left the house after she had been drinking. The officer tracked down the car heading south on Motsenbocker Road going about 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. The officer pulled the woman over near the intersection of Motsenbocker and French Creek roads. The woman allegedly admitted to having drunk three tall-boy cans of beer and knew she shouldn't be drinking due to a court order. Police say she later failed a roadside sobriety test and was arrested for suspicion of failure to drive in a single lane and DUI. She vomited at the police station as well, according to the report.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting March 3. The man allegedly attempted to steal a backpack and 16 cans of baby food, according to a report. Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart, 11101 S. Parker Road, at 4:06 p.m. on a report of shoplifting. An employee at the store said a man with a black backpack ran out of the store without paying for his items. The employee reported she chased him into the parking lot, watched him run into the Good Times restaurant at 11305 S. Parker Road, come out and then run across Twenty Mile Road, where he dropped the backpack. Another officer tracked the man down based on a description. He was issued a summons for theft.

A 40-year-old Parker man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence Feb. 25. According to a report, he was pulled over at 9:56 p.m. near the intersection of Pine and Clubhouse drives. The officer stated the man pulled into a nearby parking lot and hit a curb as he was attempting to park. He said very little during the roadside sobriety test, which he failed, according to a report.

A 38-year-old Castle Rock woman was arrested March 7 after she allegedly smashed another woman's head into the side of a pickup truck. The dispute apparently arose over a game of poker. According to a report, deputies were dispatched to Rockyard American Grill & Brewing Company, 880 W. Castleton Drive, at 11:30 p.m. on a report of an assault. They met with the victim, a 25-year-old Colorado Springs woman, who stated a woman in the restaurant attacked her. According to her testimony, she had just knocked the woman out of a poker tournament when the woman became upset and started calling her names not fit for a family newspaper. The 38-year-old allegedly followed the 25-year-old outside and kept taunting her until she kicked her in the stomach, grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head against a truck. The woman shouted a few more insults and then left the area with her boyfriend. A witness at the scene confirmed the victim's story, according to the report. The woman was later pulled over by a deputy and arrested for third-degree assault.

A 26-year-old Highlands Ranch man claims another man pointed a gun at him in the heat of a road rage incident March 9. According to a report, the Highlands Ranch man was attempting to make a right-hand turn at the intersection of Wildcat Reserve Parkway and University Boulevard when he was cut off by a man driving a red Dodge Neon. The man stated he followed the man who had cut him off for a few blocks before he decided to let it go. But the man noticed the red Neon behind him a few minutes later and the driver waved at him while flashing a gun, according to the report. The man in the Neon eventually turned onto Fairview Parkway and disappeared. The 26-year-old failed to get the license plate number, according to a report.

A 56-year-old Highlands Ranch woman reported that she had a $10,000 ring stolen from her house sometime between the dates of Feb. 14 and Feb. 21. According to the report, the woman, who lives on the 9700 block of S. Chanteclair Circle, discovered her ring was missing Feb. 21, according to the report. There are no leads in the case but she believes her cleaning lady might have stolen it. The woman reported that she had a $300 watch stolen from her bedroom as well.

A 23-year-old Lone Tree woman had more than 500 CDs stolen from her car during the morning hours of March 13. According to a report, the woman stated someone smashed out the back window of her 2007 Jeep Cherokee to gain entrance to her car sometime between the hours of 1:30 and 7:40 a.m. The woman, who lives in an apartment complex on the 10100 block of Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree, said more than 500 of her CDs were stolen. The total damage and loss was estimated at approximately $5,400, according to the report.

On March 9, the high tech crime unit of the sheriff's office arrested a 25-year-old Colorado Springs man when he came to the Parker area to meet with what he believed to be an underage female who he met on the Internet. The man was arrested and transported to the Douglas County Detentions Facility, where he was booked on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, enticement of a child and criminal attempt of sex assault on a child. The man, who is deaf, started the online conversation on March 2 with whom he thought was an underage girl but was actually an undercover officer. He began his conversation by offering to teach the alleged underage girl sign language. The conversation quickly deteriorated into the man asking for the female to take and send naked pictures of herself. He also asked if she would be willing to have sex with him. On March 9, he drove from Colorado Springs to Parker to meet the underage female but instead was arrested.
