Drinking at a holiday office party? Call a cab.
Contributed by: Douglas County Sheriffs Office on 12/12/2007

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be stepping up their efforts to apprehend intoxicated and impaired drivers during the upcoming office holiday party weekend, which takes place the weekend of Dec. 14.

On Friday, Dec. 14 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Metro DUI Task and utilizing LEAF Funds, will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol throughout unincorporated Douglas County on roadways that have been identified as problem areas for accidents and high incidents of DUI arrests.

The Metro DUI Task Force is a collaborative effort among metro area law enforcement to target DUI driving. Troopers of the Colorado State Patrol, police officers, and deputy sheriffs from several cities and counties are working as a team in the following communities: Arapahoe County, Denver, Douglas County, Jefferson County, Northglenn and Wheat Ridge.

Drivers stopped in Douglas County on Friday, Dec. 14 should not be surprised if an officer from one of these jurisdictions is contacting them in an attempt to keep our roadways safer this holiday season.
