Giant Meteor Sighting from 1960's
Contributed by: John Hill on 1/28/2006

Peace.  My family are new residents to Parker having come from California.

When I was a small boy living in Lenwood, CA near Barstow, my older brother and I were standing in our back yard looking into the sky.

From the North came a giant meteor.  It was very low and very fast.

We could see individual friction fires burning over the entire front surface of the meteor.  These gave off a hissing sound as the meteor passed nearly directly overhead.  The meteor traveled from horizon to horizon in about 5 seconds.

The size of the meteor is comparable to a basketball held at arms length in the sky.  Also, if you took a CD and used it as a template, the small inner circle would be the size of a full moon and the outer larger circle would be the size of the meteor in the sky.  I do not know the height at which the meteor flew.

Until just this past month, I have never heard any reports on this occurance.  Lenwood is and was surrounded by military installations and by the NASA Deep Space Tracking Facility.

Perhaps the sighting was kept quiet to allay any foreseable panic.

But, at www.ufosoveramerica.com is a report by a single person from Stockton, CA who also saw something in the late sixties.

I am hoping this story will become public knowledge.  I think this is a message from Creation or God and speaks of a renewal or rekindling of the Truth in Everyone.

Best in your Day,
John Hill
