Candidate Scott Jackson answers YourHub.com Q & A

My name:Scott Jackson

Age: 41

My family: Wife - Lenae, sons - Brad, Dylan and Nicholas, Dog - Saber

What I do: Partner in the CPA firm of May Jackson Hendrick, LLC

My favorite place in town to hang out: Chaparral High School to watch the JV soccer team (my oldest son plays for them) and also The Canterberry Club golf course

What I like most about living here: The community and all the activities that take place in and around town

My interests and hobbies: Golf, tennis and playing other sports with my three boys and my wife

What is my favorite thing to cook: Spaghetti (because it is easy and I do not cook)

People who inspired me (and how): My mom and dad for supporting and sharing with me in everything that I have done in my life. Also my wife Lenae for being my best friend and business partner and allowing me to be who I am today.

How I have contributed to the community: Currently serving as a Town Council Member for Parker, President and Founder of the Debbie Jackson Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Treasurer of the Space EGGsploration Foundation, Vice Chair of the Douglas County Housing Authority, Former Board Member for the Parker Chamber of Commerce, Former Vice Chair of the Parker Country Festival, & volunteer for Parker Chamber of Commerce events and Town of Parker events.

What are the biggest issues facing Parker now: Making sure that we have plenty of parks, open space, and recreational opportunities for our citizens and especially our youth. I want to see a new modern skate park take shape that will offer a safe environment for those who wish to use it. I would like to find a way to bring an ice skating facility, a swimming/diving facility, and a good book store to the area. I also believe that we have to make sure that our police department has what they need to protect our citizens with the growth that we are seeing.
