People who inspired me (and how): My father and scoutmaster - they taught me integrity and to always show respect for others; my former wing commander - he demonstrated leadership; my sixth grade teacher - she instilled in me a love of reading as well as a desire to continue learning even after school was out.
How I have contributed to the community: I have spent the past 23 years volunteering for the Civil Air Patrol - US Air Force Auxiliary, participating in Emergency Services missions as well as helping train and develop youth into leaders; I was recently appointed by Governor Owens to the Colorado Statewide Independent Living Council.
What are the biggest issues facing Parker now: Structuring growth; protecting those community qualities that make Parker the place in which we have chosen to live; attracting business other than service and retail; creating safe social outlets for local teenagers; providing services for our growing senior population; maintaining high quality infrastructure and services during Parker's growth and beyond.
