Ryan Stuart, a candidate for the Douglas County School Board, announced a preliminary list of endorsements today.
Among Stuart's supporters are
Randy DeHoff, Colorado State Board of Education member for the sixth congressional district, and
State Representative Frank McNulty. Frank McNulty is a Republican, but also on Stuart's list of supporters is McNulty's 2006 Democratic opponent,
Allen Dreher.
Former President of the Highlands Ranch Community Association,
Nick Robinson, said of Stuart, "I feel that [Stuart's] education, experience, and ability to relate to and communicate well with any audience will serve [him] well." Robinson served on the Highlands Ranch Metropolitan Districts Board of Directors with Stuart.
Stuart was elected to the Highlands Ranch Metropolitan District, the local government of Highlands Ranch, in 2004 and helped lead the effort to consolidate the District -- increasing efficiency, saving taxpayers money, and cutting taxes.
Stuart has a Master's Degree in Education Policy from Harvard University.
Eva Wilson, Senior Chief Deputy District Attorney for the First Judicial District and who worked with Stuart when he was a Deputy District Attorney, said "I have always been impressed by [his] intelligence, [his] thoughtfulness and [his] ability to work as a team ... all qualities that we need in our Douglas County School Board members."
Announcing the endorsements, Stuart said, "I am honored to have the support of these leaders in our community, but I am especially pleased by the support I have received from parents of Douglas County students." The Stuart campaign posted a list of supporters on its website,
