I find it honorable to forgive one who has done an individual wrong. However for the life of me I can find absolutely no reason Mr. Nelsons forgiveness is necessary to either Nick Van Duran or Cherie Graves. Forgiveness implies a prior wrong doing. Forgiveness implies granting pardon or cessation of feeling resentment. Perhaps that is where Mr. Nelson's forgiveness feels right to him. Perhaps resentment towards anyone who speaks in opposition of overly restrictive, burdensome and expensive law is what has fueled Mr. Nelson to embark upon such a lengthy explanation of why he feels forgiveness by him is necessary.
I am frankly surprised by such a hurtful and almost hateful attack upon two persons who have continually expressed their love for their Country and Constitution.
"Frothing", "rabid", "blackened heart"....Heavens, this seems to be such histrionics in an attempt to merely point out a differing opinion on any given issue.
Abraham Lincoln said "How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four; calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."
It appears that Mr. Nelson believes what he states is the only opinion worthy of credence, as evidenced by his very lengthy self serving post which is almost a vendetta like attack.
But the "tail" of his personal beliefs about American Pit Bull Terriers and other breeds he mentions (in his usage of the slang term pit bull) and laws which create a false sense of security, such as those he promotes, do not make it true. Nor do his blanket vilifications of all who own these breeds as being dog fighters or dog breeders.
After reading Mr. Nelsons post I am reminded of a truism I once read.....
"It is very easy to forgive others their mistakes; it takes more grit and gumption to forgive them for having witnessed your own."
Jessamyn WestPerhaps this is what has fueled this angry and disrespectful posting by Mr. Nelson?
