From Hwy 86 East thru Franktown, into Elizabeth; In Elizabeth, turn left/north at the 2nd traffic light, C.R. 13 (this is the only direction you can turn); Continue north on C.R. 13 for a little more than 5 ½ miles. After the t-intersection with C.R. 158, you will see on the right/east side of the road, 3 outbuildings and a large, Italian-style yellow gold colored stucco house. This is 39520 County Road 13 (red address marker in front of driveway pillars). Pull into driveway, past the house, and down the hill to the 3 outbuildings. The house is a private residence, and the outbuildings are where The Gabriel Foundation's aviary is located. Aviary telephone #: 303-646-3537

The photo of the Blue & Yellow Macaw is really nice. This is a worthy endeavor. It would help if you could edit this story to include directions. Not many people know the Kiowa/Elizabeth area, so Cty Rd 13 is vague. (If we go east on Highway 86, where do we turn?) It is such a shame that so many people think they can keep these beautiful creatures as "pets" and eventually have to admit that they can't. TGF offers an outlet for their well-intentioned but ill-advised actions.
