Chipper Jones, a dream come true
Contributed by: MARGARET STRNAD on 3/8/2008

Hayden Lena, 12 year old Grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Strnad of Parker, recently attended Spring training of the Atlanta Braves in Disney Worlds "Wide World of Sports Complex".

On opening day, Hayden competed with the media that surrounds such an event to capture the attention of his idol, Chipper Jones. Chipper is a fan favorite not only for his prowess as a third baseman, but for his genuine relationship with all of his fans, especially the youngsters.

His patience and willingness to take time from his schedule to joke around, sign autographs and offer encouragement in the sport is well known.

Hayden was rewarded with Chipper signing his new Braves baseball, hat and jersey.

In addition, he got his bat, pennant and original Braves hat autographed by pitchers Tyler Yates, Will Ohman, Buddy Carlyle and Second baseman, Kelly Johnson.

Watching the Braves for four days, chatting with the players and just being a part of Spring training was a dream come true.

Hayden is a catcher for the "Colorado Thunder" Triple A baseball team of the AYL for 12 and 13 year olds and attends Rocky Hts. Middle School in Highlands Ranch. Hayden is an avid "Rockies" fan and hopes that one day, he too, will be in the Majors.
