Okay, so I was a little wild in my 20's and have 3 tattoos to show for it. Don't tell my dad!
1. Firecracker: I got my first tattoo when I was 24 and newly divorced. You could say I had some attitude. I picked out a firecracker that says BANG! "Grandpa" at The Emporium on Colfax inked it, while my mother watched. She was supposed to get one, too, but chickened out. Bang! is so low in the front that when I was pregnant, it really did look like an explosion. The red and yellow are still bright after 13 years.
2. Two Hearts: I was turning 25 and dating a guy who liked piercings, so I got my navel pierced. OUCH! Wish I would have known in advance it was going to hurt that bad! The next day, I got 2 tiny hearts put on my left hip. I would love to have them redone into a butterfly. But for now, I have a "heart on."
3. Butterfly: My best friend and I got tattoos on Rockies Opening Day when I was 29. Mine is a pink and purple butterfly on the front of my shoulder. Porno Jim was the artist. My boyfriend, now husband watched. I forget that the butterfly is there until I see it out of the corner of my eye. It needs re-inked because of summer tanning.
None of my tattoos are very big or impressive, but they did hurt like a X-acto knife going over the same spot. I'd like to get another butterfly, but I don't know where I would put it.

Your firecracker tattoo sounds pretty cool. Definitely unique. I once wanted a navel piercing when I was in high school, until I heard how one of the girls in the Color Guard (of which I was a member) snagged hers on her flag in mid-twirl and it was quickly ripped out. OUCH!
