I haven't been here in a couple of years. Located on the corner of Dransfeldt and Main, this small Italian bistro is a wonderful place. My guest and I selected a seat at the bar. This is my favorite way to dine. You get to see all the action, sample and share menu items, and not feel that you need each order an entrée.
When Roman Villa opened in 2003, it was an addition to a sister restaurant in Colorado Springs. According to our bartender it was sold a few years ago. The menu is the same, and from what I can tell, the only change is that they have added pizza.
We started off with a glass of the house chardonnay ($4) and the recommended Dogajolo merlot ($9). For an appetizer we tried the sampler ($13.50) which was a combination of bruchetta, house-made breaded zucchini, mushrooms, stuffed olives and fried ravioli, accompanied by two side sauces.
One was their marinara and the other a zesty red chili aioli. It was all excellent. Next, we tried the inslata, which is salad in Italian,. It consisted of mixed greens, blue cheese, walnuts and Italian dressing ($7).
I wanted to try their pizza, so we went with the small margarita ($7.50) which was delicious. Made with a heavy hand of mozzarella cheese,, tomatoes and fresh basil. It was a great meal and the bartender even topped off our wine at no charge.
Make a point of trying this place. It's clean, friendly and well operated.

This is one of our favorite places, we even had our daughter's wedding reception there. I love the piccata, and the chicken alfredo, my husband likes the clam sauce. The Saturday evening entertainment is fun and doesn't overwhelm the dining experience, but sit at a bit of a distance to listen and still be able to talk.
