Laramie Colts 12
Parker Xpress 2
The visiting Colts, the top team in the MCBL with a 15-3 record, broke open a close game in the seventh inning to pull away for a 12-2 victory against the hometown Parker Xpress.
Once again, defensive miscues hurt the Xpress as several Laramie runs were unearned. The Xpress defense committed four errors.
Right fielder
Langston Frison misplayed a ball, allowing a single to turn into an inside-the-park home run. Laramie was leading 4-2 in the seventh when they broke open the game with a five-run inning.
The Colts added three more in the top of the ninth on hits to make the game 12-2. Their cause was aided by two costly errors on the same play by second baseman
Tom Fogerty.
The Xpress could not get the bats going against three Colts pitchers. Larmie starter
Garrett Dunlap went five solid innings for the win, while Xpress pitcher
Nick Couzantino took the loss.
The Xpress return home next week for four home games as they look to stop their recent skid and make a move in the MCBL.
