Dozens of competitors and talented steeds performed jumps in the cross country phase of a three-day horse event at Parker's Colorado Horse Park on May 31.

The three-day event includes dressage, cross country and stadium jumping events and can be used as training for Olympic competition.

There are divisions encompassing novice riders to seasoned veterans.

Many horse enthusiasts turned out to watch the competition all three days.

Event officials determine the points garnered and make rule decisions while volunteers are stationed at individual jumps during the day-long cross country event.
