After winning 3 local tournaments, so far this season, The DC Jets 16 & under Girls Fastpitch Softball Team won The USFA(United States Fastpitch Assoc.) Regional Tournament of Champions, held in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The tournament was held June 18-21 & featured teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado & New Mexico.
Winning their 4th tournament of the year, the DC Jets posted an 8-1 record, winning the championship game 5-1 against the Odessa, Texas Angels. The Jets were a perfect 4-0 in bracket play, after going 4-1 in preliminary games.
It is a special season for any team that wins 4 championships in a season.Six of the girls play for Ponderosa High School, while therest of the team is made up of 1 girl from each of the following high schools: Mt Vista, Elizabeth, Regis, Cherokee Trail & Devlin).
