Champions! Not too scrappy!
Contributed by: Stacy Plaisance on 5/6/2008

May 3 - May 4, 2008 - Greeley, Colorado - The Parker Scrappers win the Championship at the "Battle at the Fort" Triple Crown tournament in Greeley, Colorado this past weekend. On day one of the tournament, the Scrappers came on strong in pool play shutting down both teams they faced by mercy rule which seeded them second for playoffs.

After a six run deficit in the semi-finals, the Scrappers turned it around to a 17 to 7 win which sent them on their way to the championship game. The Scrappers hit the field hustling and drove in 6 runs in inning number one.

The Scrapper's held on to their lead with a 9 to 1 win in the top of the 6th inning awarding them the Championship. Some outstanding performances this weekend were Richie "Hollywood" Plaisance's lights out pitching, and Spencer "Bruiser" Pannwitz absolutely punishing the other teams with extra-base hits.

Two incredible plays in the championship game include Corey "Corn Dog" Kidd's "Willie Mays" style catch at third base, and Scott Kaleys unbelievable line-drive double play with the bases loaded and one man out. The Scrapper's baseball club has been lead by Darren Kidd, Manager and Mark Pannwitz, Head Coach for the past six years.

Their dedication to this club of outstanding baseball players is unmatched by any other team. New to the Scrappers baseball club is Assistant Coach, Bob McIntyre.

Stacy Plaisance is the proud mother of Parker Scrappers' pitcher, Richie Plaisance.
