Change the world this holiday season - lift your voice and feed the hungry of Denver.

Singers and music lovers from across the metro area are invited to Colorado's most unique Messiahsing along at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 at Littleton United Methodist Church. The concert will feature a chorus of hundreds performing Handel's masterwork with the finest professional musicians in the region. The price of admission is a donation of cash and non-perishable food items, all of which will go to feed the hungry in the Denver metro area this holiday season.

The large audience/chorus will sing favorite choruses from all three parts of Handel's beloved oratorio, accompanied by the virtuoso musicians of the Colorado Chamber Orchestra. Arias will be performed by four of Colorado's finest operatic soloists - Kara Guggenmos, Marcia Ragonetti, Jason Baldwin and Steven Taylor. All cash and food donations will be divided among three local relief organizations: the Denver Rescue Mission, Grant Avenue Street Reach and Inter-Faith Community Services .

Handel's Messiahhas inspired humanity for over 250 years, and this special community fundraiser is part of the long tradition of performing the work for philanthropic causes--a practice that dates back to the composer himself. In keeping with this spirit and in the spirit of Christmas, this benefit concert will bring together singers from across Denver to raise thousands of dollars and to collect food for the needy. Donations of cash and food are the only price for admission thanks to the sponsorship of generous patrons of the church Fine Arts Series. Both singers and non-singers are encouraged to attend. A number of vocal scores will be available for those who wish to sing along, but who do not have scores of their own.
