Voters in Douglas County have received their mail-in ballots for the election of
four of the seven members of the
Douglas County School Board. To be counted, the ballots must be received by the County Clerk and Recorder by 7 P.M. on Election
Day,
November 3, 2009. The election is being conducted totally by mail--there will
be no polling places on Election Day. The ballots must be received by the deadline--not just postmarked by Nov. 3--in order to be counted. Registered voters have received their ballots and must use a single first-class postage stamp to return the ballot in the return envelope provided. Or, voters may drop off their ballots at a Designated Drop Off Site. The location closest to western Douglas County is the Motor Vehicle Highlands Ranch office at 2223 W. Wildcat Reserve Parkway #G-1, Highlands Ranch, CO.
Four of the seven seats on the District Board will be elected. All registered
voters can vote and the races are non-partisan. Roxborough Park resident
Sue Catterall is seeking a seat on the Board representing District B. The current District B incumbent is also seeking re-election. He is
John Carson who lives in western Highlands Ranch.
Although the election is non-partisan in that no party affiliation is indicated
on the Ballot , one group of candidates received the support of the
Douglas County
Republican Party in mid-July. Another group received the endorsement of the
Douglas County Federation of Teachers and Classified Employees following its Candidates Forum in August. Here are the endorsements:
