Well, my flight was cancelled and unfortunately I will not make it Green Bay to be with my family for Christmas.
After making the sad call to my parents and friends, I again bundled up to play in the snow. Since our roads were not plowed and there was nowhere to go, we decided to make the most of our situation. A sledding run on one side of the house and "operation tunnel-to-the-front-yard" in full swing on the other side, our backyard was buzzing with activity.
Belle, the dog, even joined in the fun. Belle found her red ball in a mound of snow, only to have me throw it and bury it again. Sorry Belle.
All afternoon, the neighborhood was filled with the sounds of shovels and snowblowers uncovering our passage way to the living world. One neighbor decided to ignore the work and take the snowmobile for a spin around the lake. His plans were temporarily put on hold when he got stuck by our backyard.
