WIFE HITS HUSBAND WITH SLIPPER

Sheridan police
were called to a home on the 3700 block of South Hazel Court on March 18 on a report of harassment. According to police reports, a man told officers his wife was upset with him because he did not come home the previous evening. The couple began to argue, and the man tried to leave in his car, according to reports. While he was his vehicle, his wife hit him several times with her slipper, police said. Sheridan Police arrested the woman on suspicion of assault, according to reports. The woman was released on bond.

COPPER WIRE STOLEN

Sheridan police responded to a report of a theft on the 4100 block of South Federal Boulevard on June 9. According to police reports, a woman told the officer that $20,000 worth of copper wire had been stolen from a carnival being set-up at the address. Sheridan police checked some local businesses that buy scrap metal, but were unable to find the wire. The case was under investigation at the time of the report.

MAN PUNCHED IN FACE WITH BRASS KNUCKLES

Sheridan police were called to Swedish Medical Center on July 17 to meet with Englewood Police who were investigating a reported assault. According to police reports, a man told police he was driving near the intersection of West Hampden Avenue and South Federal Boulevard when an individual in a silver Honda made a comment and a "finger gesture" to him. The man told police he tried to drive away, but when he stopped at a light the man driving the Honda approached his car and punched him in the face while wearing brass knuckles, according to reports.

COUPLE ROBS GARAGE SALE

Sheridan police officers were called to the 3300 block of West Milan Avenue on July 14 on a report of a robbery. According to reports, a woman told police they had been having a garage sale all day. At the end of the day, a couple drove up in green Ford Explorer. A woman in her 30s approached and asked her if she could break a $100 bill to buy an item, according to reports. When the woman took the money out to make change, a man jumped out of the truck, lifted his shirt exposing a black gun and demanded all of her money, according to reports. The couple drove away and the victim was unable to get a license number.

SWORDS AND PENNIES STOLEN

On Aug. 4, Sheridan police were called to the 3600 block of South Irving Street on a report of theft. According to reports, a man told officers a friend who was staying with him stole four swords and some pennies he had been saving. The case was still under investigation at the time of the report.

DOG REPORTED STOLEN

Sheridan police responded to a report of a theft on the 3800 block of South Lowell Boulevard July 12 on a report of a theft. According to police reports, a woman told the officers she had stopped to make a phone call and left her pet Chihuahua in the car with the windows rolled down. When she returned the dog was gone, according to reports. The woman believes the dog was stolen but admitted the dog could have jumped out on its own, according to reports. The dog is valued at $700, according to reports. There were no signs of forced entry to the car, police said. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of the dog is asked to call the Sheridan Police Department.

ROBBERY SUSPECTS NABBED BY K-9S


Littleton Police alerted Sheridan police about a robbery that had just occurred on South Santa Fe Drive on Sept. 15. Littleton police said a blue Dodge pick-up carrying two men left the scene traveling north on South Santa Fe Drive. A Sheridan police officer responding to the call passed the truck traveling south, turned around and followed the truck into Denver. When the driver of the truck saw the officer behind him he accelerated in an attempt to evade the officer. Police eventually discovered the empty truck behind a hardware store and immediately deployed a K-9 unit to search for the suspects. Denver police K-9 units were called in and were used to create a perimeter around Mullen High School, 3601 S. Lowell Blvd. in Denver. The dogs were able to flush out the two suspects, and the two men were arrested.

RADIOACTIVE STEEL STOLEN

75 pounds of steel frames for a skylight were stolen from the 1500 block of West Hampden Avenue on Dec. 6. The reporting party told the officer that the steel frames were radioactive and he has no idea who took them. The case is under investigation.
