Police blotter: Domestic violence reports probed

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INVESTIGATED
Officers investigated an attempted assault at a residence on the 3000 block of West Edgermore Drive on Feb. 16. A female victim reported she had argued with her husband at a local tavern after finding him there with another woman, then left an returned home. Some hours later, the husband returned home and arguing resumed. An adult female child tried to intervene, and the husband allegedly grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against a wall. The husband then allegedly held a large butcher knife against his wife's neck. An adult male child came to the house and yelled at the husband, who later fled the residence, according to the report. The case remains under investigation.

MAN ARRESTED FOR KICKING WOMAN
On Feb. 15, a man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence after he allegedly kicked an ex-girlfriend in the leg at a business on the 4000 block of South Federal boulevard. The victim said she had stopped in the business to buy cigarettes when the ex-boyfriend came in and asked where she had been earlier in the evening, became upset and kicked her. Police later contacted the man and he agreed to surrender to police voluntarily.

BUSINESS BREAK-IN PROBED
Police investigated a burglary at a business on the 1800 block of West Oxford Avenue on Feb. 11. An employee reported finding the front door glass shattered and $200 missing from the cash register. Damage to the door was estimated at $200.

MAN, WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
On Feb. 6, officers arrested a man on suspicion of shoplifting from a business on the 3600 block of SOuth River Point Parkway. A male suspect allegedly tried to steal a vacuum cleaner valued at $500 while a female waited outside in a black Chevrolet Blazer SUV. The male suspect was taken to the Arapahoe County Detention Facility and held on bond. The female suspect was issued a summons and released. Police said the two have been suspected in at least seven other thefts in the metro area, according to the report.
