Police blotter: Trailer reported stolen


Incidents reported by Sheridan Police

Police investigated the theft of a double axle trailer from a business on the 4400 block of South Santa Fe Drive reported March 11. An employee said a man had purchased a Jayco trailer for $189 on Feb. 21 and returned on March 7 to pick it up. On March 11, the employee noticed the Jayco trailer was still in the lot and the 2008 double axle trailer, valued at $4,500 had been stolen. The investigation is continuing.

A man was arrested on suspicion of car theft March 10 after officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of South Canosa Court on report of a suspicious vehicle. The man was driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra up and down the street, and had no valid documentation on the car. Officers learned the car had been reported stolen on March 4. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Arapahoe County Detention Facility.

A man was arrested on suspicion of graffiti on March 16, after police were dispatched to a business on the 3300 block of South Federal Boulevard. An employee had allegedly witnessed one of three male suspects tagging a sign outside the business. One investigation, the three suspects were found in a nearby business. The party who allegedly tagged the sign was taken into custody and issued a summons.

Police arrested one juvenile male for doing damage to windows on a truck and storage van at a storage facility on the 4200 block of South Clay Street on March 16. The owner said three juveniles were seen throwing rocks at storage units. Police talked with two of the suspects, and issued a summons to one, while a third suspect was still being sought.

Officers investigated a burglary at a residence on the 3500 block of West Mountain Road on March 16. The owner said the home had been empty for a time and he discovered several items had been stolen when he returned to pick up some property. The loss was estimated at approximately $2,000.
