Police blotter: Graffiti suspect tasered, arrested

TOOLS STOLEN FROM VAN

On June 10, officers investigated the break-in of a business service van on the 3500 block of South Platte River Drive. The owner reported the vehicle was broken into overnight and a number of tools were stolen. Entry was gained by breaking out a rear window, according to the report. The stolen tools were valued at $400. Damage was estimated by $300.

MAN STEALS BABY FORMULA

Officers investigated the theft of baby formula from a business on the 3600 block of South River Point Parkway reported on June 9. A security guard showed police a surveillance video showing a man leaving with a shopping cart with 12 cans of baby formula. The guard reported it is believe to be the same suspect who stole baby formula several days ago. The valued of the baby formula is $289 and the investigation is continuing.

CADILLAC BREAK-IN REPORTED

On June 6, a resident of the 2600 block of West Oxford Avenue reported his 2009 Cadillac had been broken into overnight. A passenger side window was broken and an owners manual stolen from the glove compartment. The manual was valued at $50. Damage was estimated at $250.

GRAFFITI SUSPECT TASERED, ARRESTED

Police used a taser in arresting a man on suspicion of graffiti vandalism June 5. Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of South Lowell Boulevard on report of graffiti tagging. They found two suspects, a man and a woman on the 4000 block of South Lowell Boulevard. The man refused to halt and fled on foot. He was found hiding in a nearby trash dumpster but refused orders to show his hands and come out. He was tasered and then taken to a hospital for treatment. Officers found the suspects had allegedly spray-painted a bus bench cover with black spray paint, causing an estimated $150 in damage.

CHURCH GRAFFITI REPORTED

On June 8, officers investigated graffiti on the 4300 block of South Lowell Boulevard. Someone had spray-painted illuminated signs in front of a church with silver paint. Damage was estimated at $200. The case was forwarded to the Graffiti Task Force.
