Incidents reported by Sheridan Police
Police checked a burglar alarm at a business on the 2600 block of West Hempden Avenue on July 15. Officers found no sign of forced entry. Employees arrived several hours later and found someone had removed a small screen on the roof in an attempt to enter the business. Damage to the screen was estimated at $15.
Officers check an alarm at an unspecified building on the 3300 block of South Federal Boulevard. Glass in a front door had been broken. A nearby resident told officers she heard the sound of breaking glass and saw three men dressed in black running from the scene. Damage to the glass door was estimated at $250.
Officers investigated the break-in of a Ford F-150 pickup truck at a storage yard on the 2300 block of West Oxford Avenue on July 13. The owner said the steering wheel was damaged and several electronic items were stolen. The loss was estimated at $7,800. While on scene officers discovered a nearby 1995 Ford Explorer had also been broken into, and learned later that construction tools valued at $320 had been stolen from the vehicle.
