Low-income homeowners in Sheridan can now apply for free home repairs and safety modifications to Rebuilding Together Metro Denver. This is all thanks to a substantial grant from Arapahoe County for their home repair programs.
Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, a local nonprofit organization, is looking for homeowners who need home repair and rehabilitation services. Low-income homeowners who are either elderly, living with a disability or who are caring for a family member living with a disability may be eligible for these programs. Homeowners needing routine repairs that would require a handyman can apply year-round to the
Home For All Seasons program. For any major home repairs, Rebuilding Together Metro Denver is now accepting applications for their October 2009 Rebuilding Day, where volunteers work for a full day on selected homes.
Homeowners in Sheridan are encouraged to apply for assistance by contacting Rebuilding Together Metro Denver at 720-524-0840, or visit their website for an application and information at

The purpose of the grant from Arapahoe County is to prevent injuries and increase independence and quality of life for seniors and people living with disabilities. Specifically, this program is for those people who cannot afford essential repairs and handicap modifications to their homes and are subsequently living in ever more dangerous conditions. Rebuilding Together Metro Denver helps homeowners stay where they want to be, in their own homes, living in safety and with dignity. A safer home environment enhances independence and the quality of life for older adults and eases the burden and costs of care-giving.
