The No Spin Mom
I wanted a place where parents could share information that they know is correct, without the spin. Parents today are faced with alot of different problems.Working, raising children, dealing with schools,(don't get me started),scheduling parenting and working.A place also where stay at home moms ( like me) can share their views,(yes we do have brains)and help each other and working parents whether they be single moms or dads or 2 parent working households. We all have a stake in the way our children are raised, the way the schools are teaching or not teaching, what's going on in our neighborhoods, what is important for your city, county, state and country. Let's stop tuning out and tuning in to what we want for our children's future. What we want for our families, our friends, our neighborhoods and ourselves. Parenting can be the most rewarding, frustrating, scariest, hardest and blessed thing that has ever happened to parents today. We face more challenges than our parents and their parents before them. I taught Preschool for 15 years and was a nanny for 3 before deciding to start my family.I waited until my husband and I could afford for me to stay home and raise them.I have been married for 25 years this May and with my husband for 29 years.I have 2 children one in 2nd grade and one in 5th.What I want out of life is to raise two great girls into strong women.I have taken care of children all my life. That is what I was put on this earth to do.I have done it well.Children are the best.

Does anyone still have their clothes from the 80s?

My children came home from school the other day asking if I had any clothes from the 80's. I asked why and they told me tomorrow is 80's day at school. Don't you just love the one-day notices?
I'm trying to think back to the 80's and not much is coming to mind. I don't save clothing that old. It's over 20 years! I told my kids sorry I don't have any 80's clothes for their school 80's day.
Here comes Dad to the rescue. I am married to a man who saves everything. Women out there who are married to men who save everything, I feel for you.
So their Dad starts looking through his closet. He had some shirts they would have been thrown out of school for. Some they thought were not to funny(though he did when he bought it or I did). So he came up with a IZOD sweater,(remember the alligator on everything faze?) and a Webb Wilder sweatshirt that my youngest thought was really cool.
If you are asking yourself ,who is Webb Wilder,I'm not sure but I think he was a obscure musician. My husband has a real love of music.
My oldest went for the IZOD sweater and my youngest who like's to be different went with the Webb Wilder sweatshirt. It has a picture of something on the front and on the back it says:
Work Hard
Rock Hard
Eat Hard
Sleep Hard
Grow Big
Wear Glasses If You Need -em
The Webb Wilder - Creedo
I know most kids at school wouldn't get it.I tried to talk one of them into wearing a Super Bowl sweatshirt, the one when the Washington Redskins with Doug Williams and Timmy Smith beat the crap out of the Broncos. I thought that would be funny.I guess my husband and I have a different sense of humor. He told me no way is he letting either one of his kids wear that sweatshirt to school. He thought they would get killed.I told him the kids in school weren't even born when that happened. So it was Webb Wilder and IZOD. No kids or teachers knew what the heck they were wearing.
So really 80's day is a really hard thing to pull off. Well, except if you have a husband that saves everything and thought his shirts were funny at the time, but he doesn't really get them now.I still think the Washington Redskin Super Bowl sweatshirt was the best. What do I know? I'm only a mom who doesn't have the fashion sense to save her 80's clothes.
