10th annual fall birding festival at Barr Lake

Fly over to Barr Lake State Park to celebrate the fall bird migration, an experience worth sharing with others. Be entertained at this festive community event filled with food and fun activities.
Enjoy events at the festival including:
* Feast on a continental breakfast from 7-11 a.m., compliments of the Homebuilders of Reunion, and a BBQ lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
* Witness live songbirds at the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory migratory bird banding station from 7-11 a.m.
* Explore bird habitat on a guided walk with some of the region's best birders each hour on the hour from 7-10 a.m. with a kids-only bird walk at 9 a.m.
* Ride aboard the Eagle Express for a driving tour of the wildlife refuge at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Reserve your seat now by calling 303-659-6005.
* View live raptors up close, such as a golden eagle, great horned owl, red-tailed hawk, prairie falcon, Harris hawks and more and talk with raptor experts from Raptor Education Foundation and Windsong Education Foundation from 9-11 a.m.
* Create fun kid's bird crafts and bird masks while receiving stickers and prizes from 9 a.m.-noon
* Discover the art of bird feeding and watching with Wild Birds Unlimited experts from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
* Shop with 15% off all Friendswear clothing and bookstore and gift items.
* Win a free 2009 Colorado State Parks Pass; entry forms are in the Nature Center.
Admission per vehicle is a $6 daily or an annual parks pass, as well as a suggested $2 per person food contribution at the pavilion.
Representatives from various governmental and private entities will be on hand to present information, discuss ideas and answer questions from 9 a.m. - noon. The 10th Annual Fall Birding Festival is sponsored by Barr Lake State Park Volunteers, Brighton Recreation Center, City of Brighton, Colorado State Parks, Prairie Center of Brighton, Homebuilders of Reunion, Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory, THF Realty, and Wild Birds Unlimited.
